I’m a bad blogger! And a plea for advice…blog candy to follow!
I know, it’s been too long, yet again. I can’t explain what happened, life just seems to be a lot busier than I thought it would be now that the kid is in school. He’s gotten sick a lot- seems to catch every bug- which then makes my life busy, looking after sick kid, sick husband, sick myself.
Pregnancy is going well, I’m at 21 weeks…I think…most of the morning sickness is gone, but I’m still really exhausted. For a while there I was getting 12-15 hrs. of sleep a day, so you can imagine not much else got done.
Right now I’ve lost my voice completely due to another cold brought home from school. It’s been really lingering because obviously I can’t take medication or anything normal to get rid of it. . I hope by this time next week to be feeling awesome.
I have been stamping and creating, however, so in a nutshell here are some of my fall projects. If you have a favorite or have questions about any one of them in particular, leave me a comment and let me know and I’ll add details.
My www.stacywestman.typepad.com will also have some projects and details. Feel free to check out what will be featured over there! I hope to get that done with before the weekend.
As an aside, if any of you have any advice or suggestions on getting organized, staying organized, and keeping on top of housework, please drop me a line. I’m not sure where to start, and once baby comes in the Spring, I can forget about getting organized then. I need to figure it out now ![]()
Any advice is much appreciated, and anyone who gives me some will be entered into a draw to get something. I’m not sure what at the moment…something from Stampin’ Up! for sure, and something that can easily be mailed, so it will definitely be something flat. Everyone is welcome to enter my draw, but you’ll only be entered once, no matter how many pieces of advice you give me.

I LOVE the first card – how’d you do the two-toning? Gorgeous!
Staying organized… yikes. I’m definitely the wrong person to ask. Make a ‘cleaning schedule’ – i.e. bathrooms one day, floors another, kitchen another, dusting another. And anything else.
Some people find that rather than setting aside 4 hours just to clean in one chunk, that half an hour a day is sufficient.
Good luck – I’m still trying to find my groove with two kids, and the third is coming soon, and I just don’t know how it’s going to work out!

I used Not Quite Navy Craft ink and embossed first with silver- just sprinkled here and there, and flicked really well before adding the gold EP second. This technique was taught at our regional seminar as a WOW by Christy Harsch.
Thanks for the advice

Love your cards. Organize tips…um…the only way I can even be close to that is making a list of thing I have to do and stick with it. Organizing my stamp room, can’t. When I try to do this, I find something fun to play with and stop. LOL Thanks for a chance at some sweet SU candy.

Ooo, I like that flourishy one! That 2 tone embossing powder trick is very cool.
As for cleaning, etc – have you looked at Flylady? It’s all about zones!

Thanks for those tips, keep them coming. You know, I am a list person, but what happens is I’m so into them I start scheduling everything in my life to a ridiculous extent. And I love Flylady, and the zones make sense, but then all the other extra things- 7 fling boogies and other challenges and I start to fall behind. Maybe if I just focus on the zones…ignore the rest…hmm.

Hey there! Love the flourishes, too. Verra nice!
As to Flylady, I just got my control journal lined out, decluttered and it seriously takes me about 15-30 minutes per day. I just go with the control journal and don’t worry about all those boogies, etc.

THose ornaments are mighty purrrdy! I wish i could have heard the cackling…often peoples’ laughter makes me laugh too.
Aside from mentioning flylady to death, because she’s great, but i’m a slacker…..
I tend to get the environmental guilts if i don’t run a FULL load of laundry of a FULL dishwasher….and i have had to let that go. For the sake of my family and all things organized. Run a load of wash every day….i simply am not one of those people who can hack away at laundry ALLLLLL day. I go bonkers! BOred. Stircrazy. Nuts i tell ya! I find myself not folding it and making the excuse…it’s clean….i’lll fold it later. i’ve got a sneaky brain.
So….i do a few sneaky things. One load of wash no matter what size, fold, put away. FREEDOM. One will be waiting tomorrow.
The wee monkey helps me unload the dishwasher, handing things up to me (E could probably help u with that as your tummy grows!), i load, even if its just 8 glasses a handful of cutlery and two pots…run that skimpy load!
Try to always know what you are having for supper. And if you can, power cook. My girlfriend buys the costco warehouse sized hamburger and will cook it all up at once, one day. Maybe not the burgers, but you could form and freeze them, cook up your spaghetti meat and season, cook up your taco meat and season….know what i mean? Or roast chicken one night, chicken wraps the next. If you can get two or three bangs from one meal Awesome!
Drive by bathroom cleaning. I’m in, i declutter counters. I’m out. I”m in later, i do the mirror i’m out. I’m in, i do the toilet i’m out. My cleaning gets done in drive by bits like that because it keeps me from feeling insane and i cannot stay for 30 minutes in one area, because that means the toddler is coloring the walls in the other room…phooey.
to emergency declutter a room. The toy bucket, the garbage bucket, the ‘it doesn’t belong in here bucket’. the toys get moved to the toy box. The garbage to the trash. The it doesn’t belong here…takes time to sort out…but that’s another chore. Sometimes i have to just do the bucket method, to find my floor so i can vaccuum….then i sit …heave a sigh of relief, drink a cup of tea and just feel the good energy flow thru the EMPTY room. aaaaah. (i’ve got my back turned on my cluttered disaster right now…)
Seriously, i also don’t put a whole bunch of things on my list…or i get discouraged. i feel happy when i got a load of laundry, the dishes, home cooked food done. The bathroom/the declutter….those are NOT all on the same day. Pick one other thing to do, and do it in bits. If you get it all done and you feel like u can do more, then do! If you don’t then play with the kids, colour, craft or do something that will enrich your life or someone elses.
