Technique Tuesday: Making your Hardware Pretty, Part 1
- Fresh Cut
Hodgepodge Hardware is a wonderful, useful collection of assorted hardware pieces such as photo anchors, frames, brads, etc. for use in scrapbooks and cards. Unfortunately, it comes in a case with a metallic finish. They are nice to look at, but don’t always fit with the “feel” of your scrapbook page or card.
Enter the wonderful world of White StazOn and pastels.
I am going to describe what to do, then leave you with a picture of the finished projects using those items.
First, pull out your opaque white StazOn pad. Pick up your brad and hold it by the folding bits. Mash it into the white pad, pull it out, and use a q-tip to apply pastels in the colour of your choice to your brad. The brad will be that colour forever. Wasn’t that easy?
This card used a NEW stamp set from the next catalogue called Fresh Cut. It’s officially one of my favorites, and even better than that, you can buy one from your demonstrator NOW! Before the new book! It’s die cut, around $25. Call your demonstrator, of if you live in Canada and don’t have one, you can call me.
I used Rose Red, Whisper White, and Basic Black cardstock. Rose Red and Basic Black classic ink, a paper piercing tool, 1 3/8″ circle punch, and Mono adhesive.
Enjoy!
